Unlike typical fiber-based roll-out or spray-in home installation products that help to resist heat, Green Energy Barrier’s reflective attic insulation technology actually reflects heat by acting as a radiant technology. The science behind this revolutionary insulation system is so effective and efficient, it’s the same radiant heat barrier used in NASA’s space suits for the US Space Program!

How does this radiant thermal barrier work? When the sun beats down on your roof in the summer time, your roofing shingles absorb the sunshine and heat up. The heat that gets stored in these shingles then radiates into your attic, causing the attic space to heat up – which causes your air conditioner to work harder and harder to maintain a set level of coolness within the home. Our reflective attic insulation product reflects back into the atmosphere up to 97% of that heat and prevents the heat from entering the attic and heating up the entire house. In wintertime, heat typically rises upward and escapes your home through your attic. Our back patio was already roofed, and floored. The contract was to reinforce the footings, and use Four Seasons windows to enclose it into a sunroom.
Member Comments:
Plans for the enclosure had to be submitted and approved to the homeowners assoc.and county, which Bee Windows did that for us. Once financing was complete, enclosing our back patio and turning it into a beautiful sunroom began. Concrete was poured very professionally with considerations of the owner. Then our sunroom was completed by an excellent, experienced installer. He worked in difficult weather and always consulted the owner on daily progress. I can't brag enough about the installer, We are very pleased with the results. The sunroom is insulated and sealed very well. We have used it daily since, even during the ice storm.

About Insulation
In a quest to discover a way to protect the astronauts from temperatures ranging from -273 degrees to +238 degrees Celsius, NASA found that a thin sheet of aluminum foil radiant barrier would do the same job as a seven-foot thick piece of conventional insulation. Needless to say the astronauts space suit could not be seven-feet thick; therefore radiant barrier was implemented into the space suits. By placing the reflective barrier in the space suits it reflected the astronauts body temperature back at them, keeping them warm. It also reflected the deadly radiation from the sun helping to keep them cool.

The radiant barrier kept more than 95 percent of the radiant heat from penetrating the space suits and small holes were placed in the material to allow moisture to escape. The end result was that the material maintained constant and comfortable temperatures in the space suits. This same technology is now available for your home. Radiant barriers or reflective barriers inhibit heat transfer by thermal radiation and they will allow you to cost-effectively save on heating and cooling costs throughout the year.
